I use ChatGPT for brainstorming, writing, and editing purposes, whereas Perplexity is my go-to for any kind of research and fact-checking.

OMG how awful🤨

If you need that sort of prompt, there are plenty other things to do, like gardening, or needle work, or even painting by numbers?

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I understand that AI tools are not for everyone. For many writers, though, they can be helpful for overcoming blocks or sparking ideas. I appreciate you taking the time to read and comment.

That's very generous of you.

My comments were purely my own view, having tried it out for fun.

Having said that, I've been told that I should change my bio - apparently, it reads as if it was written by AI 🤣

Haha, that is funny. Honestly, if your bio sounds polished enough to be mistaken for AI, that just means you are a great writer. 😂

Don't know about that!

My daughter keeps telling me that I'm too factual, and not chatty enough….

I feel that writing is often different from how we articulate in person. In fact, many great writers were super introverted in real life. Your style is your own, and that’s what makes it special.

I’m really enjoying this conversation. We’ve gone in such an unexpected and thoughtful direction from an article about AI. I guess that’s what makes us human! 😄

That's very interesting.

I grew up before telephones in houses, colour television, and was 12 years old when Alan Turing died. So, I have a long view, and tend to take perhaps a sceptical view on life.

When I left school at 15 I started work in a shipyard.

When I gave up my Directorships to take up writing, I was a member of the British Association of Robotics and Automation.

PS. As an afterthought, I never intended to be a writer.

I just turn everything into stories, and then, my daughter asked me to write one down.

That is an incredible journey across an era of change, from shipyards to robotics to writing. Truly inspiring. Happy to connect with you here!
